The Parish of Sandfields celebrates the Blessing of a statue of St. John Paul II

“Have no fear of moving into the unknown. Simply step out fearlessly knowing that I am with you, therefore, no harm can befall you; all is very, very well. Do this in complete faith and confidence”.

St. John Paul II

On Sunday 9th August at the parish mass Father Paul Brophy blessed a statue and new shrine to Saint John Paul the Second. Polish members of the congregation joined in a blessing prayer in Polish read by Piotr Lesiak. All the children present received a sticker with the image of our new saint and prayer cards were distributed as the congregation left mass. The homily, given by Father Paul, focused on the life, ministry and witness of one of the greatest popes in the history of our church. The statue [purchased in Fatima] was welcomed with great joy and we look forward to receiving many blessing from St. John Paul II.
