Morriston: Special 100th Anniversary of Fatima Mass held at Westminster Cathedral

On Sat 18th Feb, 25 of Morriston parishioners were blessed to attend the special opening centenary Mass to commemorate the 100th Anniversary since Our Lady first appeared to three children Francisco, and Jacinta Marto and Lucia dos Santos, in Fatima, Portugal

We joined a congregation of approximately 3,500 people inside and outside Westminster Cathedral, all sharing in a joyous celebration of the apparitions at Fatima which was led by Cardinal Vincent Nichols.

It was an emotional experience to witness people from all walks of life and cultures totally united in love and devotion to Our Blessed Lady.
Cardinal Nichols crowned the statue of Our Lady and re-consecrated England and Wales to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We were proud to listen to Father Jason lead the prayer for Wales and to make the appeal on behalf of the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF) in his role as Spiritual Director, as he encouraged everyone to help support the transportation of the National Pilgrim Statue of Fatima together with the Relics of Blessed Jacinta and Francisco as it begins its Visitation to 18 Cathedrals in England and Wales.

The Statue of Our Lady with the new crown and the Relics of the Seers of Fatima will be in Cardiff Diocese 1st weekend of Mary, Belmont Abbey May 10th for the Anual May procession and in our National Shrine and Cathedral Church of St Joseph Sat May 27th and 28th
